In Vasai-Virar, residents get water for 15 to 20 minutes a day. A major chunk of water for the region comes from the Surya dam. According to civic sources, there's water in the Surya dam to last only for the next 15 days.
Water tankers, which were almost wiped out of the Vasai-Virar region, are back in business with large housing colonies depending on these tankers to meet their daily requirement. "Vasai-Virar almost got rid of water tankers as pipelines reached the interiors. But with the scarcity of water, tankers are in demand again,'' said a civic official.
Tankers are charging Rs 800 to Rs 1,200 for 10,000 mld. "We have to wait for two to three days to get a water tanker. Though we get municipal water for half an hour a day, at least one tanker every two days is required to meet our daily requirement,'' said a Virar resident Prasad Bangera. Read more TimesofIndia

Students excelling in certain sports prefer to join institutes that have facilities to improve their skills but the online system does not allow that. It does not give students advantage under sports quota. It does give an advantage to students to students under the sports quota, but the college allotted may not have the infrastructure.
Those interested in minority colleges under the reserved quota (50%), will have to apply offline. They can go for other colleges. But if someone cancels his admission to a minority college and opts for another institute, the state cannot keep tabs on the seats. At the end of the process, if a college cannot fill up all its minority-quota seats, it has to surrender them to the state.
If you do not get into a college of your choice, the computer will allot you a seat on the basis of stream, medium of instruction and zone Source
